Executive Board

David joined the THOR UK business in 1985 as Finance Manager, before going on to hold several other senior positions with the business, including UK Managing Director. He has served on the THOR Group Executive Board for almost 30 years, and became Group CEO in 2020. One of David's many projects leading the Group was overseeing the design and construction of THOR UK's new Wincham site in 2001.

Philip joined THOR as Group CFO in 2022, having amassed a wealth of experience from senior finance roles, both in the UK and overseas, at NSG Pilkington and the Hempel Group. Philip is responsible for the Finance, Procurement, and Digital functions across THOR Group, delivering strong financial management and decision support, data transparency, effective business controls and robust governance structures. He is a member of THOR’s Audit & Risk, Ethics, and Budget Committees.

Ruediger joined THOR GmbH’s operational lab in 1985 as the site’s first ever apprentice. One of his early projects was the introduction of Isothiazolone synthesis in our lab and production facilities. He later completed a degree in chemical engineering in the 1990s, and was appointed Head of R&D for biocides at THOR Germany. From there, he made significant contributions to THOR’s approach to innovation, whilst also supporting and developing our technical capabilities around the world. Ruediger was appointed to the Board as Chief Development Officer in 2021, coordinating and directing our global R&D activities and expansion opportunities.

Giuseppe began his THOR career in 1999, bringing a strong background in senior commercial leadership. In 2010 he became Managing Director for THOR Italy, where he oversaw the more than doubling of sales revenue across the Southern Europe, Balkan, Turkey, Middle East, and North African regions. Giuseppe was appointed the Main Board in 2018, and was nominated to the Executive Board in as Chief Operating Officer, EMEA, in 2020. He provides strategic direction and leadership spanning all THOR businesses in Europe and Africa, and is a strong advocate for customer centricity and innovation, whilst also championing sustainable and ethical growth. Giuseppe chairs the Ethics Committee and is the sponsor for THOR’s Code of Conduct.

Dave joined THOR Specialities USA to lead the sales team in 2006, having previously spent a number of successful years at both entrepreneurial and Fortune 100 companies alike. Over the past 18 years, Dave has applied his deep expertise in speciality chemical sales, along with global marketing and business management experience, to grow THOR’s footprint in the Americas region. In 2022, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer, Americas, adding the strategic direction of THOR USA, Mexico, and Brazil to his responsibility.

Qinglin joined THOR China in 2016, with a PhD in Chemistry. He has over a decade of experience in management positions at Clariant in Germany, where he was educated, and China. Qinglin brings a strong technical background alongside his management and market experience, enabling him to lead a growing business in APAC and to deliver on end-to-end strategic projects for the introduction of new technologies and business process across all functions. Based at THOR’s site in Zhenjiang, in China’s eastern Jiangsu Province, Qinglin is responsible for the strategic direction of THOR businesses in China, Malaysia, Australia and Japan.

Peter was appointed to the Board in 2007, overseeing industrial biocides, and in 2019 became the Chief Sales Officer, taking full commercial responsibility for all of THOR’s business activities globally. His focus is on the continued development of THOR’s product and technology offering, as well as driving excellence in our technical service and regulatory support functions.
