Integrity and Responsibility: Values that Drive Our Decisions

Integrity is at the heart of everything we do. Every day, we make decisions that prioritise doing the right thing – not only when it’s easy, but especially when it’s challenging. Our company values, solve with ingenuity, deliver with integrity, are reflected not only in our products and services, but also in our social responsibility and the way we govern our company.

Our ESG Strategy focus:

We have worked hard to develop a comprehensive sustainability strategy, built on four key pillars: Products, People, Planet, and Governance.

This sustainability strategy, informed by a rigorous double materiality assessment, will be formally introduced in 2025 and will guide our actions for years to come.

Products

Sustainability at the Core of Innovation

We prioritise sustainability by assessing our product portfolio's social and environmental impacts. Using the WBCSD framework, we lay a foundation for future innovations.

Our goal is decarbonisation by reducing CO₂ emissions in our processes and through products that extend lifecycles, lowering the environmental impact of our customers' operations. Solutions like Industrial Biocides, Personal care preservatives, and Flame Retardants help reduce CO₂ footprints along supply chains.

We enhance circular economy efforts with chemical recycling, preserving resources and improving product lifecycle lengths. This focus on preservation leads to significant PCF reduction, helping our customers improve their carbon footprint through sustainable practices.

People

Commitment to Human Rights and an Inclusive Corporate Culture

Our commitment to people and society is a cornerstone of our ESG strategy. We are dedicated to upholding human rights and fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace. Our Code of Conduct clearly outlines our dedication to combat modern slavery and guides our partnerships with suppliers to ensure they share our values. As part of our commitment to maintaining health and safety standards in the workplace we are actively seeking ISO 45001 certification at all our manufacturing sites.

Planet

Environmental Responsibility at the Core

We are making significant improvements in our environmental management systems. In 2024, we focused on enhancing the accuracy of our greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and calculating the product carbon footprint of key products, laying the groundwork for future decarbonisation targets. Additionally, we have identified key decarbonisation levers across our manufacturing sites and are investing in renewable energy sources, including solar power. Another key milestone was the publication of our first climate-related financial disclosures in 2024, outlining our governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics in relation to climate change under different scenarios.

Governance

Upholding the Highest Standards of Business Practices

We believe that strong governance is fundamental to our success. Our ethical business practices are laid out in our Code of Conduct and Anti-Trust and Competition Policy, and we remain committed to maintaining high standards of transparency and accountability in our governance practices.

External Assessments and Certifications: Recognition of Our Commitment

To build trust with our stakeholders, we undergo independent assessments by third-party organizations. EcoVadis is recognizing our sustainability efforts and publishes our Group results. We are committed to enhancing our sustainability practices and are preparing to publish our first detailed sustainability report. This initiative reflects our dedication to creating a positive impact on the environment and society.

Looking Ahead: A Continuous Journey Toward a Sustainable Future

Our sustainability strategy is a dynamic and ongoing process. For FY 2025, we plan to release a comprehensive sustainability report that will include quantitative data on our carbon footprint. THOR Group will report from FY 2028. We aim to achieve an EcoVadis Silver Medal with our 2026 data submission and will continue to improve our ESG performance. These efforts underscore our commitment to making a positive impact on the environment and society.

Next Steps:
  • Finalising Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculations for our key products.

  • Calculating and publishing Scope 3 emission data

  • Setting clear targets for reducing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.

  • Preparation of the first THOR group Sustainability report

  • Further investments in sustainable manufacturing processes and renewable energy.

Conclusion: Together for a Sustainable Future

THOR Group is dedicated to taking responsibility for our role as a business and creating a positive impact on the environment and society.

By continuously refining our sustainability strategy, achieving our ESG objectives, and collaborating closely with our partners, we aim to contribute to a more sustainable future.
